Steve Thoeny has recently retired after forty-five years, half working for others in Information Technology and half as owner of two companies – marketing for small business and IT and engineering recruiting.
As a die-hard flyfishing enthusiast, Steve had a wonderful job at Cisco Systems that took him around the globe – always with a pack rod in-hand. He’s fished on five continents with favorite spots being New Zealand, Tasmania Australia, and a special fondness for southern Colorado. He is a dryfly, small stream specialist, and uses one fly (elkhair caddis), a three-weight fiberglass rod, and a forty-five-year-old original Ross reel.
As an advanced amateur photographer, Steve has been successful with exhibits and contests. He won second place in the prestigious International Kodak KINSA Contest and has had his outdoor photography featured in Arizona’s Game and Fish calendar.
Steve is grandfather to four of the cutest, smartest kids alive. Ok, he’s a little biased! He’s blessed they live in Phoenix and Tucson.
